Nonprofit Founder
Writing because of your audience.
Obscure Histories (OH) is a community-led historical content website. Dana founded OH in 2014 and converted OH to 501(c)(3) nonprofit status in 2022.
The purpose of OH is to share content that the community feels is important. OH prioritizes publication of histories of marginalized people. In this, we welcome histories that have been overlooked in the historical record.
OH's mission statement is "bringing history to light."
In 2023, Dana created the OH, Jr. History Documentary Curriculum for learners 4th grade and up. The Curriculum takes the learner through each step of short documentary creation, from ideation and scriptwriting, to video editing.
